3 Tastiest & Nutrient-Rich Banana Smoothie Recipes

Last Updated on May 11, 2020 By //  by Lily Maravilla Leave a Comment

Banana smoothies are a fantastic way to obtain adequate potassium and many other vital nutrients. Because the banana is an accommodating food, you can use it as a template for a variety of delicious recipes that suit your nutritional needs and personal tastes.

As banana smoothie recipes rarely consist solely of banana as the ingredients, the very best banana smoothie blender are ones that are able to handle a variety of materials of different consistencies, from nut butter to ice.

These three recipes have always been my favourite. They will give you a starting point from which you can create your own delicious banana smoothies.

This is a minimalist smoothie, which can be made with only bananas and milk if you desire.

The best blender for this banana smoothies will be one with a variety of speeds and frothing options. With this and other basic smoothies, loft and aeration are crucial to give your smoothie loft and body.

Banana Smoothie Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Ice if desired
  • Sugar, honey, agave or choice of sweetener to taste

Preparation

First, add the milk and vanilla extract. Then add the banana, optional sweetener, and ice. Blend until smooth. For a thicker smoothie, reduce the amount of milk. If a thinner consistency is desired, add more milk.

Banana Smoothie Recipes: Berry Banana Bliss

Get a sweet serving of soluble fibre, phytonutrients, and vitamin C with this delicious indulgence. You can forgo the ice cubes by using frozen fruit in place of fresh berries.

Keep in mind that not all blenders are optimally designed to take on frozen fruits. So if you prefer frozen fruits in place of fresh berries and ice, the perfect blender for this smoothie recipe is one that tolerates frozen fruit and ice on a consistent basis.

If you are carrying out your blender review, you may want to watch out for strong motors. While blade design is important, a model with a powerful motor will be superior compared to one with a less powerful but sharper blade. Such models as Blendtec Designer series or Vitamix 5200 are definitely the ones you want to go for but only if you have the budget to afford them.

Berry Banana Bliss

Ingredients:

1 banana
½ cup of blueberries
4 large strawberries
½ cup blackberries or pitted cherries, if desired
1 cup plain yoghurt
½ cup orange or pineapple juice

Preparation

Starting with the juice, add the bananas and berries, followed by the yoghurt. Finish with the ice cubes. Blend until smooth, adding more juice if you want a thinner consistency.

Banana Superfood

Perfect for those focusing on organic living, or individuals who are avoiding dairy, this power-packed smoothie incorporates a variety of plant-based sources of proteins and Omega 3 essential fatty acids. Both naturally sweet and highly satisfying, the best blender for banana smoothies like this will be capable of handling materials with a variety of consistencies, from fibrous to hard, too sticky or viscous.

banana spinach smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 cups spinach
  • ½ cup almonds, slivered or chopped
  • 1 tbsp agave
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp chia seeds

Preparation

First, make your own almond milk by combining almonds with a ½ cup of water, blending until you have a smooth, white liquid. Then, add the spinach, again blending until smooth. Now add the banana, peanut butter, chia seeds and agave nectar. Blend until frothy and smooth.

When deciding to give this recipe a try, do take note of one thing. Chia seeds have amazing powers to thicken liquids. If needed, add water to adjust the finished consistency.

Give It a Try

Banana smoothies are inexpensive and satisfying beverages to cool off the hot summer days ahead. Their nutritiously wholesome content and the ease of making them render them crowd-pleasers on every level, from moms to marathon runners in training to college students watching every penny.

Take a chance on this great concept and craft a cool summer beverage of your own, with all the fruit and flavour you desire.
